vls can't play .avi,.mpeg???????

Discussion on the (deprecated) VideoLAN Server application as well as the miniSAPserver stream announcer. This is not about VLC!

vls can't play .avi,.mpeg???????

Hello!
I have installed the VLS without problem. But it can play .mpeg .avi , it can play only .vob.
Why is it???
Can anybody help me???

VLS doesn't support avi files.
The config file might also need to be changed for mpeg1 files (not sure about this).

I would advise you to use VLC as your streaming server instead.
