stream tv channels to lan?

can i use a tv capture card and stream the video/audio using vlan server to multiple clients?
also can the channels be controlled, per client? or is it just one stream for all clients?

That's my question too. Is it possible to stream different channels on different multicast addresses with one single tuner card?

But what i was reading till now is that you need for each channel you want to stream a seperate tuner card, but i am not sure if this is true or not....may be someone else can give us more details.

To answer your question, yes you can stream to multiple clients if you use the multicast feature. Multicast is the best way to stream to multiple clients. In my experience, if you use VLS you need the VLC to get the stream.

Hello,

i already installed vlc and streamed the video through the network. But a couldn't get the audio signal!
I read that vlc don't support the v4l2-API (only the v4l1 one) and so it's not possible to get sound.
Is this true?

And, has vls the same problem?!
