Where to download the SVN version of VLS ?

Discussion on the (deprecated) VideoLAN Server application as well as the miniSAPserver stream announcer. This is not about VLC!

Where to download the SVN version of VLS ?

Postby kingfisher » 27 May 2004 11:33

When I tried to configure the vls to use my new Logitech Webcam Pro 4000, I found that the vls-0.5.6 which I downloaded recently from VideoLan doesn't support the webcam, the VideoLAN HOWTO said that.

The document said that I need to use the SVN version of VLS, but can't find anywhere to download it.

PLS help !

Thanks

You can get the latest vls-source by using this url:

Code: Select all

svn co svn://svn.videolan.org/vls/trunk vls-trunk
More infos on svn can be found here.

I don't know whether the latest source of VLS does help you, but just try...

Where to download the SVN version of VLS ?

Postby kingfisher » 31 May 2004 08:22

Hi Fkuehne,

I have downloaded and installed the svn to my RH 9, but unfortunately I could'n locate the svn host to dowload the vls.

% svn co svn://svn.videolan.org/vls/trunk vls-trunk
svn: Unknown hostname 'svn.videolan.org'

% svn co svn://80.65.228.129/vls/trunk vls-trunk
svn: Can't connect to host '80.65.228.129': Connection timed out

Since there is no webinterface to the SVN repositories yet, I browse the CVS Repository http://developers.videolan.org/cgi-bin/ ... t=VideoLAN which is kept in sync with SVN and downloaded the vls's folder tarball, tried to locate the binary but there was not there.

Is the latest vls source code here can compile in RH 9.0 and support V4L ?
Is there any other places that I can download the SVN version of vls's binary (rpm) ?

Thank you for all kinds of help.

This might be a firewall problem at your side. I can access the server without any problems.

Of course. This the source only.

This is the latest source. It should compile on RH 9.0 fine and supports v4l AFAIK.

I don't know, but I don't think so either. The latest binary which is for download by our side is the last release. We do not have any nightly builds of VLS, since it is not in active development anymore.

Best regards.

Thank you for your information.

So I am now having the latest version of vls (0.5.5-cvs) from CVS Repository, but again I have compilation issue, had posted in some other topics.
