How to start a server with vlc in the command line

Hi all,

I can start vlc as a client player with the following command line:
vlc udp://@234.0.0.222
This will let vlc play multicast data from a server.

But I don't know how to start vlc as a multicasting server in the command line such as:
vlc file://d:\avseq01.dat [arguments]

I want it can open d:\avseq01.dat and demux the file onto multicasting network, but i don't know what the [arguments] should be.

Could someone help me? thanks.

Use the graphical interface and copy the string.

This is how I finally figured out how to do transcoding, etc. I selected afile to play and checked the "streaming output" option, then selected the multiple options available. I then tested it to make sure it was what I wanted. Once I knew it was what I needed, I copied the line given in the text box and used that in the command line. Worked like a charm.
