MP4 Stream via Internet

Postby Istike » 02 Jul 2008 18:41

Hi,

I would like to capture and stream with VideoLAN from a DV-Source.

Is it possible:

1. to capture DV-Footage (OHCI)
2. convert it into MP4 (1 Mbits,MPEG TS, H264, AAC) and stream it internetwide
3. receive it on an other PC (not in the same LAN, but in Internet, based on WAN IP...)
4. save the received stream in either MPEG2 or HUFFYUV

Has anybody a solution for this problem?

Edit: VLC kann make it. With MPEG2 TS Streams I have made some tests within our LAN. The picture was broken and horrible..

Which video and audio-codec is suggested for the container MPEG2 TS and the mentioned broadband?

At the upload-side I have 1,5Mbits, on the download 5 Mbits. I make it through UMTS...

May this work on this way? Is it possible to make the caching so that the stream does not suffern on the engpasses of the broadcast (broadband changes all the time)?

Thank you.

Regards,

Istike
