Completly lost

I want to be able to watch a dvd on my moms comp from my pc, or from a different pc in the house. I am completly lost on how to use the videolan software, and how to connect to it. Its all windows based, so if anyone could show me a guide or tell me how to get it going would be great. it doesn't need to be real fancy but just let me watch it on a computer accross the room.

Do a search for DVD and Windows (both terms). I believe I've seen a comment that it works OK if you do a share of the DVD drive. Then, insert the DVD and just open it for a couple of seconds -- somehow, some way, this "registers" the DVD.

Now, open VLC on the PC you want to watch the DVD on, select that you want to watch a DVD, and use the path to the shared drive.

(since I don't have a DVD, one thing I might think of doing is to mount the shared drive -- on your client windows PC, select the shared drive and do a Map Network Drive, so that it is a drive letter to your PC; I don't know if this is necessary or not)
