Hello !
I would like to simply create a file into a directory whose path have accents.
But unfortunately, it doesn't work. I saw in the "readme file" that there is a function which allows to convert a string from a specified
character encoding into UTF-8. --> strings.from_charset( charset, str ). But this function doesn't work ( vlc 1.1.8 ).
Have you got a solution for this issue ?

This function is used in two of VLC official plugins, so I have to assume that it does work...

I have noticed now that it is already implemented in VLC 1.2.x
