Script to easily scrub 1, 5, or 10 seconds forwards?

This happens to me when I miss something in a lecture or interview I'm watching at high speed. It's very difficult to get back right to the exact point where that slide or word was shown/spoken and ends up wasting a lot of time.
Is this possible to program or better does it already exist in some capacity?

Thank you.

The extension script "Previous frame" is available here: http://addons.videolan.org/content/show ... ent=156396

You can also use VLC hotkeys for very short, short, medium, long jump and redefine their values (seconds) if necessary:
Tools > Preferences > Show settings = All > Interface \ Hotkeys settings
