How would I go about adding a hotkey/keyboard shortcut to an extension?
So that when pressing a key combo activates specific extension.

As far as I've been able to figure out, you can only do hotkeys in interface type of lua script.

You can find an example of hotkeys in the 2.0.8 source code at /share/lua/intf/hotkeys.lua. Or you can decomile the hotkeys.luac in a VLC installation.

I noticed that the VLC 2.1 source does NOT have the hotkeys script. I'm not sure what that means as far as the future support of hotkeys in lua.

There's also an example somewhere in this forum, which you can find using Google.

It is not possible to activate an extension by pressing a hotkey.
