New Here: Playlist that can sample from and shuffle videos?

Hi there!

I'm new here but I had a question for anyone that has any idea about if this exists on the forms or not. I little brother is graduating at the end of the month and I have a bunch of home movies from my parent's old camera and old phone that I backed up over the years (that I already cut out all the shots of my parent's pockets or the ground). I wanted to try and make/find some kind of script that can shuffle all the videos on a playlist and randomly sample little 3-5 second segments from each video as the playlist shuffles. I know that most DVD menus give off the same appearance (even though I get that those clips are not being randomly sampled). If this is even possible wanted to play it for him while my Mom did her "My little boy is all grown up"' speech at his graduation party.

Sorry for the long story but I don't know what this would be like. I only know how to super badly do some Python and a little Matlab so I'm kind of out of my depth here.

Does anyone have an idea if something like this already exists or where I might need to look?
