LCARS v1
Posted: 17 Feb 2009 20:56
This is a skin based on Star Trek's LCARS (Library Computer Access/Retrieval System) interface, and my first VLC skin. Requires VLC 0.9.0 or higher.
Main inspiration for graphics and colours was found at lcarsdeveloper. It has a skinned playlist, equalizer and a minimal mode featuring the LCARS spinner. All images are pixeled by yours truly (I never was that much into vectors). It might look a little jagged here and there, but I'm planning to clean that up in future updates.
The font used was also made by me and is released under a Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 Unported license. I made the font because I needed something pixel-perfect (being into pixelart and all) and I couldn't find anything that was suitable and had the right feel. It's a unicode font and includes (almost) all extended latin characters. Made with Type Light. Most skin updates will be font-related, as I'm still fine-tuning most of the characters as well as adding new ones.
Webpage still under construction.
Well, let me know what you think. Also report any bugs you might encounter, that is, apart from currently known skin issues.
