Hi, first post here...

I am trying to record http://radio.cesnet.cz:8000/cro-d-dur.flac and then convert to wav or flac.
I can record just fine - the recorded file plays back in VLC.
But when I convert to wav or flac the resulting file cannot be played by any software.

I don't see what I am missing? Any advice?

For some reason VLC chooses to record that flac stream in an ogg container.
In messages I can see

Using record output `std{access=file,mux='ogg',dst='vlc-record-2012-04-01-16h52m54s-Cesky rozhlas D-dur-.ogg'}

I don't know whether this is a VLC bug, or whether it's a "feature".
You decide.

A workaround is to use command line.
Like this:-

I do not feel confident using command line items. It would be great if in the future vlc could allow the user to record internet streams in a user defined format such as FLAC. Thanks for all your work developing vlc btw

use the recording function. The audio is then encoded in FLAC format.

"MediaInfo" says:

The FLAC-encoded audio is in an OGG-container. You can, if they want it, rename the file from .ogg after .flac.
