Trailer without sound

Hello, since I have VideoLAN, I watch the most of my videos with VideoLan. Especially QuickTime Movies are better to watch in VideoLAN. But a few minutes ago, I downloaded the new (large [not Fullscreen]) trailer of S.W.A.T.

I can see the film, but I can't hear anything.
With the Quicktime Player it works.

Is there a codec problem with new Quick Time Movies ?

Yes there is. From vlc log :
[00000184] main decoder error: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `QDM2'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.

As long as there won't be any free implementation of qdm2 decoding (QDM2 is a proprietary format from Apple), VLC won't be able to play these files back.

On OS X though there is a way to decode it AFAIK through the QuickTime API but I cannot tell you much more about this since I am no OS X user.

Correct this codec works on OSX. Actually you can also get it to work on Windows. You need to download the QT SDK or something and put some sort of component in the same directory as the VLC binary.
Gibalou knows how this works, since he developed it.
