4:3 Safe Title Frame

Maybe a silly question, but I have searched and have found no results regarding VLC

I work in broadcasting, specifically Traffic department. I handle a lot of commercials spots from clients. I'm not in the Creative department though, so I don't do any editing and don't have all the fancy editing programs and such.

Mainly I use VLC just to watch files that I get from clients that don't go through Creative. Because we get so many different file types it's a pain having to open up different players. I watch them and make sure that everything is fine. A few times we have received 16:9 spots from clients that got produced with text out of the 4:3 safe area. I was wondering if there was a plugin/extension that would overlay a 4:3 safe area so that when I view 16:9 spots I could find out if things are within the safe area before making it to air?

Why not use crop to cut them so you can see it?
If they are always the same resolution, why not using the logo filter with the right png?

I did think about just cropping 16:9 spots, so yeah that's an option. I think it would be kinda nice to have a 4:3 frame overlayed so I don't have to switch to 4:3 crop all the time. I was just curious if anyone knew if that was possible with VLC.

If you have the same resolution, use the logo filter.
Else write the right filter.
