Adjusting Image Skip Speed In Slideshows

Postby WiseMaknae » 27 Jan 2012 09:27

Hi guys, first post here.

One of the things I used to do with VLC was to drag a heap of images and videos into the playlist to make a slideshow of movies and pictures; the pictures would stay for about 5-10 seconds then skip to the next pic/vid. Recently I formatted my HDD from Ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10 and re-installed VLC but now, it shows the images for a fraction of a second and skips to the next thing. Sometimes I just get an error like
Your video output acceleration driver does not support the required resolution: 533x800 pixels. The maximum supported resolution is 534x800.
Video output acceleration will be disabled. However, rendering videos with overly large resolution may cause severe performance degration.
and it doesn't show anything.

I've tried changing the MJPEG FPS to 0.1 and it works fine except that I can no longer play, pause or skip images. Can anyone help?

You need to close the error dialog before anything will show.

I've recently ran into the same issue. Been doing projections for an amateur theatre (last time this spring) with VLC, and I was able to just throw images, and videos, into the play list and the images would run for 4, 5 seconds and video properly. Now It barely shows the images (milliseconds I guess) and when i try to pause during an image it shows up all messed up.
One point might be that this is the first time I try to run it on a mac (my earlier shows were run on a pc).

Otherwise I might just have to find another player for this. Which is annoying, since I like VLC media player.

Is there some feature I've missed? Did something change in the newer versions of VLC?
