Help!!!!!! with a webcam please.

A friend has a webcam that has it's own built in webserver and works perfectly fine for just going to the site and viewing.
But the manual that came with it is very poor as is it's functionality. It's supposed to email on motion detection set up alerts etc, but due to the limited manual and user interface it doesn't play ball!!!
When you browse to it for the first time it installs an active x plugin so the image displays.
I would really like to get the image from this webcam shoing in the media player,
Is this possible?? Anything that could possibly help would be great.
