Media library directory hierarchy [SOLVED]

Postby fnord42 » 21 Nov 2011 02:09

Hi there,

I'm looking for a feature to manage multiple playlists without using a popup window.
If I use the media library and create folders as playlists or simply add existing folders of my filesystem for some reason this hierarchical structure get's flat after a restart, so I end up with one big list of files.
Is there a way to prevent VLC from this behaviour? Checking/Unchecking the "Display playlisttree" Option in the Advances Playlist tab doesn't change anything.
No hierarchies in the playlist (except that a folder i drag into the window appears as one item until i double-click it, then it just expands, but no hierarchy arises) and the ones in the media library are still temporary.
I'm using archlinux but I think it's a platform-independent problem.

Thanks for your time!

Nevermind, checking the "Display playlist tree" option was the right way.
VLC just need to be restarted after checking the option.
