Hello everyone!

So my question (or suggestion) is, if it's possible to playback an video/audio file from a certain position in a row with the VLC media player.

I will show you with an example what i mean exactly:



So I would like to playback the video above from the exact position 0:58 several times by clicking on the 0:58 position. But with the VLC Media Player this doesn't work like that. It's only working if I move the mouse cursor a bit and then click again on the 0:58 position, but like this I don't get back to the exact position 0:58.

Is there any way to playback from an certain position with mouse clicks by not moving the mouse cursor? With Windows Media Player it works great, but sadly the VLC Media Player just ignores repeated clicks on the same position.

It sounds like a strange and unnecessary issue, but I need this function to work properly for making piano sheet music of Piano Videos/Songs. So I need to listen carefully to certain position several times in a row.

If such an option is not possible, then I would like to make a suggestion to add this kind of function in the future

All other media players I know like windows media player, real player, quick time player and YouTube allow you to playback a media file this way...

whats wrong with the loop function ? this is exactly what you want.
view -> advanced control, and you can use this function.

yes, the loop function is nice, it's just that repating a certain section by simple mouse clicks is more comfortable and useful in my case

A->B loop allows repeating a section with mouse clicks...

Where can I find the View -> Advanced Control? I am using VLC media player 1.1.11 and there is no such thing as "View". Thanks,
