Jumping forward in Youtube videos

Hi,

I am using VLC 1.1.11 on a Mac running OS X 10.5.8. I got Youtube videos to play without crashing VLC by updating youtube.lua, using the replacement code provided on these forums last month. But I can't jump to a given point in a video without it freezing. (In case size is an issue, I'm trying to jump to the 10 minute mark in a 40 minute video.) I thought it was just buffering/trying to download the later bits, but once I try to jump forward, I can't go back to the start or where I was either. The only way to get it to start playing again is to stop the video and play it from the beginning again, at which point there is no lag so it's not a buffering issue. Also, if I try to fast forward or jump forward with the Messages window open, the video keeps playing from where it was, but the application stops responding. (In fact, a lot of variations that involve having the Messages or Error windows open result in the application not responding.)

Please let me know if I can provide any further information to help resolve the problem. Thanks.

Note: this is not the general problem with flv videos that was addressed in 0.9.x (or whatever). I resolved the issue by downloading the .flv and playing it from my hard disk. But since that's annoying (and possibly violates youtube's policies?), it would be nice to see this addressed.
