Hello,
I found this Media > Convert/save (Ctrl+R) option in VLC, and after using it for some time, I still haven't found any option to convert the input video stream to uncompressed AVI, that would be big, I know, but readable by virtually any software. Did I miss something, or is it on purpose that all containers proposed by default are not supported by big video editing software? And why does the selection of "AVI" in the container option when editing a "conversion profile" produces a blank file, with no video stream, only audio?
Because, if VLC could convert all it can read (and it can read almost everything!), to uncompressed (lossless) AVI, it would end now any search for video conversion software: VLC itself would be the ultimate convertor!
I also hope I did not infringe the "conversion software ban" stated in this part of the forum, as my question is only about VLC itself!
Thank you for your help
