Hello,
I got a new notebook and tried to watch my .avi and .mkv videos with vlc player, but the image gets pixelated and sometimes stops or vlc just closes during the video. Sometimes there is a strange clacking sound, too.
The files are ok, I could watch them with my old macbook on vlc.
I installed the k-Lite codec package, and updated graphic drivers, but it still doesn't work (actually it doesn't work with wmp either).
My system information:
Intel i5 2,5 Ghz CPU
4 GB RAM
Intel HD Graphics Family
Windows 7 Professional

I am not sure if this is a general vlc or windows specific problem, I hope this is the right place.
I would appreciate any new ideas.

This is not normal.
Did you update the Audio drivers too?

yes, everything.

It is also strange that some files run pretty well, and other of the same type have many problems. I can't see any systematic there like that it depends on the size oder definition of the movie.
Only one thing is clear: The longer I watch, the worse it gets.

Does anyone have an idea what else I could try?
PS: An additional info about my system: I use a 64 bit Windows version
