as i was unable to get on-the-fly quadraphonic decoding for a matrixed stereo source on VLC, i now have Dark Side of the Moon on CD/SACD hybrid - which tells me it plays back in 5.1 DTS/Quad compatible when played in an SACD player.

problem is, i'm not sure whether VLC will see the SACD layer, or just the CD audio layer?

i'm going to assume its a hardware thing, please dont tell me i have to buy a specialized SACD player?

VLC cannot decoding SACD.
