Problems Converting Subtitles

I am trying to convert some MKV files into another type (WMV if it matters). I have followed the process of
1: Add .MKV video file
2: Selecting the appropriate .ass subtitle (Font Normal - Alignment Centre)
3: In edit selected profile ( Subtitles is ticked - DVB Subtitles - Overlay subtitles on the Video)

When the process is complete, the video has no subtitles shown, and there is no option to turn on subtitles in the usual spot under video.

However if I tick Dump raw input, it converts the file and there are subtitles BUT they are not overlayed onto the video.

Can someone help me out, or does anyone know of a way to render the MKV file with subtitles playing into another format.
