MP3s being converted to VLCs

MP3 files downloaded via uTorrent are being converted to VLC files which then can't go to ITunes and my IPod. This happens on computers with Vista and XP--I hope I'm not on the wrong forum.

That's because you enabled MP3 associations in the VLC installer.

I thought it might be something that simple. Can it be changed without a new download?
