Cannot play itunes rental video on VLC

Postby drooticus » 16 Jul 2011 19:04

Hi,

I just downloaded VLC media player so I could watch a Japanese movie I downloaded from itunes and add subtitles. But when I try and open the movie file, although the bar at the bottom moves along as if it's playing, I can't see anything except the orange cone and I can't hear any audio. I'm on Windows 7. When I click on the "messages" tab in the VLC player, there are no messages except under the "modules tree", which doesn't seem to report any errors (although I know very little about computers, sorry). Any suggestions gratefully received!

Thanks!

I may be wrong, but I believe iTunes movies are encrypted. Then there is no way to play them in iTunes-unlicensed media players.
