Creating a Playlist

I've just downloaded and setup VLC 1.1.10 and would like some help in setting up a Playlist. I've read several posts on how to do this, but have had no luck with any of them. I can drag a file from the the Media Library to the Playlist page okay and then Save the Playlist to its default setting: C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC, but I can't access it. What am I doing wrong?
