hi

please take a look at these thread
(i dont want to post this again)

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=91161

the mpg decoder / codecs are outdated in vlc (even in latest nighly)
i think after 18+ month an update would be good :-)
so vlc will be able to play the 3 mpg files too

i don't know how much work is needed but
i thought vlc and mplayer will use same ffmpeg codecs
so just updating mpg codecs should make the 3 files playable...

VLC uses HEAD of libav or FFMpeg git.

okidoki

is there a chance that the mpg decoder/codecs will be updated ?
all files play perfect with vlc beside these 3 files (from the xxx movie there are more mpgs which don't work)

all other players (even wmp) can play them so i think it should be possible vor vlc to play them too :-)

Are you sure the problem is in the decoder and not in the demuxer?

i am not sure what the exact problem is
i only knew that vlc is unable to play the files but all other players can :-)

since i want to stay with vlc i want vlc to play them :-))
