Extracting frames as pics from a video segment

Hello,
is it possible to extract a set of pictures/frames from a desired video segment in VLC? The segment is no longer then 1,5 seconds. Ideally (but not very important), would it be possible to automatically arrange these frames into a single picture? Like, there are 35 frames, place them in a tiff, or make a horizontal stream of them? The video in question is tennis, and purpose is to analyze stroke mechanics. Thank you in advance

You can create pics with the scene filter.

I managed to find scene filter in preferences. But what is directory path prefix and recording ratio? And how do I actually start screen capping after I save the preferences? I don't see the player doing anything of that sort. I tried looking, but it was for previous versions, and didn't apply, or I did something wrong. I need help

Using the details in the Long FileName..
This app can determine the start position and duration of a mini ThumbNail
Along with speed, Again to repeat, freeze to wait after play
Pause and continue so the the File remains open for another segment right after.
The len=262260 ( for 262 seconds) speeds up random sampling.. because the length is already known.. the video length call takes SECONDS
