Youtube Firefox Integration Possible?

Not exactly a feature request so I posted here. Something may already exist.
Looking for something like (ideas, please)...
A Firefox extension that could add a right-click option to run VLC on the URL in a link. At that point, the existing LUA script will do the rest. Ideally it could be configured to add options (Youtube &fmt= for example) in a sub-menu and handle all the sites other than Youtube, too.
I found some launching extensions but they all lack something. I've been using Parcellite in Linux to run VLC after copying the URL. It's almost as good but a Firefox extension could be really slick and work in Windows, MAC or Linux.
All thoughts welcomed.
