http "virtual file" server

Hello!
It's not simple http streaming...I'm looking for something more...
With a http file server (hfs) on PC I can play my standard (divx+mp3) avi videos on my WM phone, but i have problems with higher quality (>1.2 Mb/s) and ac3 audio on the phone side, so I'd like to transcode them on-the-fly.
Is there the possibility in vlc to act like a file server and show the real-time transcoded "virtual files" for the client as they would be really there?
This way the files would be also seekable.
Have you got any related idea?
Thanks,
Zoli
