Set default crop to 16:9

I'm using VLC 1.0.1 with Windows 7. I've already figured out how to set the default aspect ratio to 4:3, but I don't know how to set the default crop to 16:9. I know all I have to do is hit the "c" key a few times, but there's got to be a way to set it as the default, right?

Please update to 1.1.7
So I updated to 1.1.7. I figured out how to leave the volume set at 10% when it starts up, but it no longer starts in the position I closed it in. As I stated before, I resize the entire VLC window and keep it in the lower left-hand corner of my screen. When I open a file in large portion of the window is below my taskbar and out of sight, so I have to resize it every time I open a new file. I don't want to do that...
