How to stream only video and play audio locally?

Postby fac63 » 27 Apr 2005 08:43

Hi,
I was wondering if there was any way that i could only stream my video and play the audio locally (in my case through the server's audio card)? I thought using the 'es' module would be the way to go, but I can't figure out the audio half. Many thanks in advance!

it seems strange to don't want the sound on the client : turn off your speakers 8) . Furthermore, i wonder if VLC allow es mux to stream out... But in any case, don't trust me too much cause i still a noob in this domain

For instance, what I'd like to do is stream video to my laptop over WLAN, but have audio play through the server, which is connected to my home audio system. Doesn't seem like such a tall order, but I can't figure out how to do it.
