Remote Control via another VLC client

Postby volongoto » 12 Mar 2011 10:39

Hi,

I've searched the forum but couldn't find a solution to this problem. I'm not sure if there exists one...

I have two PCs. One of them (PC1) has all my audio and video collection and I never use that PC for any other purpose than storage. The second PC (PC2) is my primary PC for daily use. I installed VLC on both PCs. I connected PC1 to my TV and want to play music and video files that will be output to TV. I want such a setup that I can browse and navigate all the media files on PC1 from PC2 and easily add files to my playlist. I want to use the VLC on PC2 just as an interfaceto browse the media library of PC1. When I enlist a file, I would like that file to be listed in PC1.

Is this -or anything close to this- possible using VLC?
