VLC Media Player Command Line

Postby johng181 » 03 Mar 2011 10:08

I am using VLC Media Player to preview videos using the command line. I want to open a video, preview it and then start a new preview without closing VLC. I can open a video but when I try to opening a second one a second instance of VLC opens and I get both playing at the same time.

The functionality I want is the same as dragging and dropping a video into VLC. This gives a seamless transition from one preview to another.

Thank for any help in advance

Use the rc interface.

Thanks Jean. I've found a simple solution for my situation. Just set "Allow only one instance" on the Tools\Preferences" menu in VLC.
