mkv + external microdvd subs and their extension

Postby toudi » 16 Feb 2011 19:31

Hello.

I am using VLC 1.1.7 and trying to view mkv file with external microdvd subtitles. The subtitle file is named exactly like the movie file.

If the file extension is txt the subtitles do not show up.
However whenever i change the extension to "srt" they do. It seems like it's a configuration issue, however i don't know when i can change this strange behaviour ..
I tried to remove all of VLC config files (just in case) but this didn't provided me with a solution.

i would be very grateful for some kind of advice.

I think that in the older versions of VLC i wasn't experiencing this issue, however maby i am messing up the facts.. :)

regards,
toudi.

Yes. Normal.
Will be changed in 1.1.8 where .txt will work.
