how to install on red hat Linux 8

Hi everyone!
I have red hat linux 8 and wanted to install VLC on my system....i did wut ever is written on the site but still wasnt able to install VLC properly.
I downlaoded the fedora bincary packages and VLC rmp as well...unzipped them in the same directory and when i ran the rpm command with the same command line as mentioned i got following erors:

vlc conflicts with videolan-client-0.8.1-1.0.rh7.rf
After that i added the --nodeps switch to the command line and it didny give any error ...but when i run VLC from terminal...i got following error again
vlc: error while loading shared libraries: libpth.so.20: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
