Focus not given rightly in "Open a network stream" dialog

Hi,

This should probably be reported in Trac, but before creating a new ticket I wanted to check on the forums if this would be the correct move, since this is the first time I get in touch with the VLC project.

I frequently use VLC to play videos from the network, usually by copying a video url from a website (for example, videos from the 27C3, 27th Chaos Communication Congress) and then do Ctrl+N on VLC to open the "Open a network stream" dialog box. A very small thing, but that has been bothering me for a few years (hence my message today), is that when this dialog gets opened, the focus is not in the Address field where you can copy the url. It thus forces you to click inside that dialog to paste your URL.

I would think that it makes sense to give the focus to that field when you are opening the dialog. After all, if you selected "Open a network stream", you want to open a url, right?

Is this kind of "bug report" valid for Trac? If so, I will report it there. If not, please direct me to the correct way of reporting this.

Cheers, and thanks a million times for this marvellous piece of software! I just can't count how many times VLC has permitted me to watch videos that were failing on other media players.

+Emilien.

P.S.: I currently run VLC 1.0.6 under Ubuntu Linux 10.04, but what I just reported has been happening for a long time, and on Windows too the last time I checked (quite some time ago). This is thus not related to this exact release. I haven't checked with later releases (don't know of a way to easily install it on my machine right now without messing up with my normal setup). Maybe someone with the latest release could check that for me? Thanks.
