Sending Resolution Information for Streaming

I have always thought that all media information such as resolution are being sent to the client via the SDP but I was wrong. I am just curious on how does the client know the resolution of the streaming media if it is not in SDP. Any feedback will be appreciated. Please....

That depends on the codec.
