DVD-Audio dropouts

Postby johnfull » 25 Jan 2011 10:44

I was pleased to find that VLC player will play DVD-Audio, but was dismayed to find dropouts in the playback.
On one recording, there were dropouts at each of 2 changes of packet and once with no explanation.
When VLC plays a standard DVD, there is no break in content stream when the packets change (not the layer).
Any way to remedy this? I was going to transfer the recording to mp3 format for portability, but removing the
dead spots and splicing rendered the recording slightly syncopated...thanks!

I might add that the one un-explained dropout happened just after a weird pitch change...
