song changes audio track from stereo to left

hey. so ive got this audio file (Slipknot - Psychosocial) and whenever it plays through vlc it changes the audio track from stereo to left every time it plays. just wondering if this is an issue others are having and if it can be fixed. its been doing it since about VLC 0.9.3.
