How do I turn a loop into a separate mp3?

Hi,

I don't know whether this question is operating system specific but here goes.

I have a two minute mp3 but there's only 45 seconds of it that I want to listen to so I loop it from :25 to 1:10 using the "Loop from point A to point B continuously" feature. (For the record, I play this loop nonstop at night to help me sleep and it works like a charm.)

Two questions:

1) I want to take this 45 second loop and have it be an entirely separate mp3 from the 2 minute mp3 it's now a part of. How do I do this?

2) In addition to creating a 45 second mp3 I'd also like to know how to link copies of this 45 second mp3 in order to make one mp3 that is about 5 minutes long. How do I do that?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Use an audio tool, like Audacity

JB,

Thank you for the advice. Audacity was able to fulfill my wishes. It took a little trial and error but I eventually figured it out.
