I have a Zire 31 low end PalmOS 5 PDA. I use it for almost everything. I am using a Kinoma Player with the PC based Kinoma Encoder 3. This is a hassle just to play Red Vs Blue in History Class. I have found only 1 other media player that can play MPEG4 files called MMPlayer but it’s a Purchase idem. VLC is showing it can run on a PDA based on the Windoes CE or PocketPC OS's so i am hoping some one that is willing will make a version for the PalmOS 5 PDA's like my Zire 31. I will test any version showing promis of DivX or Xvid playback at good frame rate.

This is in the FAQ and 100 times on the forum. use the force of Google dude.
there is one new developement, and that is that PalmOS as is will cease to exist. instead they will switch to linux, which wil run Palm applications. Basically there will no longer be any PalmOS then, even though they will continue to sell it under that name.
When they DO that (might still take a year or so), THEN it will be possible to port VLC to it.
Ok

The reason VLC will never run on current PalmOS is the same as the reason why PalmOS is switching to linux and why Apple dropped Mac OS 9.
The OS is archaic and does not support certain key features that is needed to build modern applications for it.
