Adding noise stops the video motion!

hi,
When i tries to enable noise funtion, the video stucks there, no noise comes, vlc hangs also and had to end task it.
It hapens on both AMD athlon 3000+ with xp and Intel core duo 2.8ghz with vista.....
...Pls get me some real noise funtion in Vlc unlike present noise!
Add noise similar to original dvd files...depth!
