What does "access_file: seeking too far" mean

Postby rhythm » 05 Apr 2005 18:35

Still trying to get a reply on this one. When I ty to open downloaded/saved-to disk movie-clips in VLC, they open fine if the clips are .avi, but if they are .wmv. I get an error message "access_file: seeking too far". What does this mean and is there a way around it?

I guess it means that the file is only partial, and lacking it's end. sort of like the wmv parser say to the file reader: Give me the bytes at possition N. But the file is acctually shorter than N.
