better image quality help?

hello everyone!
I noticed vlc has a really poor image quality compared to WMP when I watch 720p tv show's and it really bothers me, cause wmp has a lot smoother and colorful picture....I attached the screenshoot and as you can see vlc has a bit of a grainy image and I'd like to have it as clear as on WMP, so please tell me what to do? I tried other outputs, but none comes close to this in wmp...maybe if I could know how wmp is set I could set vlc in settings the same, but I don't so please help...I don't wanna stop using vlc just because of that, cause wmp has a really quiet sound when watching hd (even when having all volume settings on max) and vlc is my only option.
VLC

WMP

so you see picture diferrence is VERY annyoing and noticeable...wmp feels like real one while vlc is like so artificial =/
