There are three buttons (Shuffle, Loop and Repeat) in the
VLC's Playlist, just below the "Manage" and "Sort" menu entries.
Thanks for the answer, shirker

The Mac OS interface
The windows interface
The telnet interface
The linux interface
The ncurses interface
The sticky in this forum doesn't say "Report your OS and your VLC version when asking questions" for nothing

Oh sorry then ...
It is the latest version of the
VLC's media Player on non-SP Windows XP/Pro, and it is set to
wxWindows interface/skin (no those other interfaces used/applied) ...
cheers, shirker

My guess would be that with both options enabled:
All playlist items are shuffled into a "new" list, where items can be played more than once but at random (Loop)
Vs. items played only once, still random, and the then the player stops once all items in the list have been played.
Did I make any sence ?
