Privacy and Video Files

Hi!
This is a quite general questions, and doesn't concern VLC player only. I didn't know where else to ask, so I'm asking the experts in this forum:
is it possible to create a video file (mp4, wmv etc.) that tracks who watched it? A video file that contains program code that connects to a server and stores your internet IP address for example?
