"Broken AVI Index" problem since latest update

Kia ora (or HI)

Can anyone help???
Since installing v.1.1.4 of VLC I have been getting the "broken index" message for every file I try to play
even though they played fine on previous versions of VLC before updating.
A troll through the boards didn't seem to come up with a match for my problem... if they played ok on the
previous version I had installed why should they need a program like DivFix++ to permanently repair these
files?
Should I just uninstall and go back to previous version?

Any help / suggestions would be much appreciated... I prefer to use VLC but, this really is a pain.

Thanks in advance

Hi j b,
thanx for your reply...

previous version was 1.0.3 goldeneye

the only thing I did differently was install the mozilla plug-in...
the clock was losing time for a few days after as well but, that
seems to have come right.
otherwise, no other changes or anything

cheers for your time dude
