Hi, I was not sure what to put as a title as it is hard to explain. I have a video file that is a copy of a DVD I would imagine. I have PowerDVD 10 which I have tried to play this on and it plays it but, the audio and video is very choppy. For a test I wanted to see if VLC would play as it plays everything I know of. I installed VLC 1.1.4 and tried to watch this Video_TS VOB and it says "Please wait while your font cache is being rebuilt", I figured ok, and waited. Then it started playing and the audio and video was not choppy. I would like to know what to do to fix these VOB files as I want to make a copy of it on DVD but, as it plays now it doesn't play smooth when burnt to a DVD. I would really like to know what VLC did to fix the VOB files that it plays prefectly in VLC? How do I fix this, please everyone, anyone, I could really use the help. Thanks in advance.

VLC doesn't use the same codecs as PowerDVD, that is why.

Hi j-b, Ok, I understand that VLC doesn't use the same codecs as PowerDVD. So, tell me what codecs does VLC use so that I know what to install. I have installed a few codec packs one at a time and if it didn't work I uninstalled them before installing a new codec pack. Yet, I have heard that codec packs are not always the answer. Can you please tell me what codecs VLC uses so that I can test it until it works. Thanks in advance.

VLC doesn't use codecs pack, but its internal codecs.
