Yes I mean the hilight, when a button is selected, or I put the mouse over it. On Apple DVD palyer they are colored in VLC they are black, or transparent grey.

I have the exact same problem. I have been creating DVD's with Adobe Premiere Elements. When VLC goes to play the DVD (Either a burned DVD, or opening the VIDEO_TS folder), the selected item in a DVD menu always shows up in grayscale. If the highlight should be medium green, its medium gray. A bright yellow come out light-gray. A dark color shows up black, or dark gray.

The DVD's play fine with Windows Media Player, or PowerDVD.

Windows XP-SP2, VLC 1.0.5

Just upgraded to VLC 1/1/4, no help.
